Negros Occidental extends MGCQ status until year-end

GOVERNOR Eugenio Jose Lacson signed Tuesday, December 1, an executive order extending the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) status of Negros Occidental until December 31, 2020.

The province has been placed under MGCQ since June this year.

The province has 5,541 confirmed Covid-19 cases as of November 23, 2020, while the entire country has more than 418,818 Covid-19 cases as of November 22, 2020, Lacson cited in his Executive Order 20-52, series of 2020.

Because of the rising number of Covid-19 cases in our country, there is still a need to place the province of Negros Occidental under MGCQ, he added.
