DILG-Northern Mindanao to wait for IATF resolution to allow minors to go out

THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Northern Mindanao Tuesday, December 2, 2020, said it is waiting for the resolution from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to allow minors to go out of their homes.

On November 30, Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año announced that minors are now allowed to enter malls as long as they are accompanied by their parents.

In the weekly briefing with President Rodrigo Duterte on the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) situation, Año called on each local government unit (LGU) to enact an ordinance to support this new directive.

DILG Assistant Regional Director Yvette Tolentino-Sunga said the directive applies to general community quarantine (GCQ) areas and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) areas.

"We are waiting for an IATF resolution really allowing the minors to go out. [There are] guidelines on community quarantine allowing 15 years old up to 65 years old except those with comorbidities or other health risks and pregnant women, they are still advised to remain in their residence at all times," Sunga said.

Sunga added they will refer to the protocol of the local government units, which should be assessed according to the health, social, economic and security parameters.

On Tuesday, December 1, City Mayor Oscar Moreno signed two executive orders, wherein home restrictions were removed to those who are 15 years of age and over, and those who are over 60 years of age but not over 65 years old; and the curfew hour period in the city shortened from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
