POLICE arrested three most wanted persons in separate operations in Eastern Visayas from December 1 to 2, 2020.
Accused, Fatima Gawaen, was arrested in Mayorga, Leyte by virtue of a warrant dated November 23, 2020, for grave slander by deed.
Gawaen, who is listed as rank 5 most wanted-municipal level, was arrested by elements of Mayorga Municipal Police Station led by Captain Niel Fernando Cerdena, acting chief of police.
The warrant was issued by Honorable Chona Apostol-Octa, presiding judge of Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) of MacArthur-Mayorga in MacArthur, Leyte with recommended bail of P18,000.
In Bato, Leyte, joint police operatives arrested Benjamin Albero Jr, 66, and rank number 6 most wanted-provincial level.
The accused is facing a rape case, according to the warrant dated November 3, 2020, which was issued by Honorable Carlos Arguelles, acting presiding judge of Regional Trial Court (RTC)-Branch 18 in Hilongos, Leyte.
No bail bond was recommended to the accused.
The operating units involved were from Bato Municipal Police Station led by Lieutenant Steve John Abasolo, PIT Southern Leyte led by Executive Master Sergeant Pablo Yamson Jr., PIT Leyte led by Lieutenant Rolan Maceda, Provincial Intelligence Unit led by Major Dinvir Revita, and 82nd Military Intelligence Company (MICO), Military Intelligence Battalion (MIB)-8.
Police also arrested the rank 8 most wanted-station level in Ormoc City on December 1.
Accused, Charles Del Socorro, 35, was facing a warrant dated October 27, 2020, for violation of section 5 and section 10 (a) of the Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Honorable Girlie Borrel-Yu, presiding judge of RTC-Branch 35 in Ormoc City, issued the warrant with recommended bail of P200,000 and P80,000, respectively.
The operation was conducted by Ormoc City Police Station 1 personnel led by Lieutenant Joseph Inay, officer in charge, under the supervision of Colonel Ramil Ramirez.
The arrested persons were brought to police stations for documentation and proper disposition prior to turnover to the court of origin. (SunStar Philippines)
