Dear Corona,

You beleaguered us and incessantly pestered the world. I have met you personally, day and night. I was not able to work with my colleagues, and they have to do my shift in the battle because I was a frontliner myself with a Covid positive patient, my dear husband. It was a roller coaster of emotions, I was very afraid, but I have to remain calm and vigilant all the time. We lived each day trying to fight the symptoms of chills, high fever, and profuse sweating. The most terrible of all was watching how he quivered and all I could do was hug him tightly until it stopped. We prayed with gratitude after each night passed without any complications. Our faith and love for each other grew, and even more, stronger each day. We believed in God’s healing power, our only hope that would help us surmount a tremendously challenging circumstance. The house quarantine made our twenty-two years together with more solid than ever. Fear was a laxative. Worry was my worst enemy. I needed to dismiss it. It could have chronically plagued me and paralyzed my whole being. Patience and praying the Holy Rosary were and will always be my weapon. I got to learn to master my emotions in this adversity. Kenny Roger's songs in my playlist helped me contain my angst and anxiety. May he rest in peace. Yiruma made me focus.

In the eye within the storm when we thought we could not make it through, as long as we have each other. As long as I have you, as long as you got me. You and I against Corona.

My thoughts and prayers to those who are struggling to fight the disease both physically and mentally, please, hold on, to our unflinching health care providers, they are our heroes, and they should be properly protected and aptly compensated, and to our leaders that they will be granted the wisdom and strength to persevere. Pray, stay calm, and discourage discrimination. Take courage that God is in control over everything under heaven. I am corona-ly ready and I am not afraid. I am a corona frontliner, fighter and I tested negative.

Stay home, be safe, and have faith. Drink plenty of honey+lemon+ginger water, get enough rest, and gurgle water with salt. Wash your hands properly and frequently, our tested remedies. For now, we are slowly but bravely recuperating under an indisputable fact, God’s healing power.
