ANTI-NARCOTICS agents nabbed a barangay councilman for pushing drugs on Buri Road in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City Thursday afternoon, December 3, 2020.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas arrested Michael Astorga, 32, resident and councilman of Barangay Zone 12A, Talisay City, together with his two companions Cris Angelo Abelarde, 31, and Dino Dimson, 25, both residents of Bacolod City during a drug bust that yielded an estimated P1 million worth of shabu.

The suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer around 3 p.m.

Recovered from the suspects’ possession were 25 sachets of shabu weighing 150 grams, P14,000 marked money, Isuzu vehicle, weighing scale, cellular phone and drug paraphernalia.

PDEA team leader Agent Bamboo, in a radio interview, said Astorga was under surveillance for about three weeks and was monitored dealing with illegal drugs in the area of Bacolod City.
