A 13-YEAR-OLD boy accidentally shot and injured an eight-year-old boy after the former was playing with an improvised gun known as "boga" in Ormoc City Thursday, December 3, 2020.
Police said the incident occurred around 11 a.m. Thursday at the Panalian River in Barangay Hugpa, Ormoc.
Initial investigation said while the minors were playing and swimming in a river, another 16-year-old boy came to join them after hunting some birds in the area.
As he put his carried improvised gun, the 13-year-old minor suddenly took the weapon and played with it until it accidentally fired, hitting the 8-year-old boy’s head.
The victim was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.
Authorities confiscated the improvised weapon and turned over the minor suspect to the City Social Welfare and Development Office after proper documentation at the police station. (SunStar Philippines)
