Cagayan de Oro records 2,432 Covid-19 cases

TWENTY-ONE residents, all of whom are local cases, have tested positive for the coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Cagayan de Oro to 2,432, an official reported Saturday, December 5, 2020.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said 12 of the 21 new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases.

Of the 2,432 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 390 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,042 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,042 local cases consist of 155 persons deprived of liberty, 1,039 local index cases and 848 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 415 active cases, 74 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 332 outpatients, and nine ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 42 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results came out negative. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 1,909.

Of the figure, 279 are LSIs, 101 are ROFs and 1,529 are local cases (community: 1,258; Apors: 271).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 108.
