New app aims to combat rising PH unemployment rate

STAGNANT wasn’t in anyone’s vocabulary this 2020 until the pandemic happened. Unfortunately, this economic decline took a hard toll on over 27.3 million Filipinos. Because of Covid-19, most offices, factories, markets and shopping malls were forced to temporarily close their businesses, causing thousands of workers to lose their jobs since March.

To help combat unemployment, app developer APPscape introduces LapitJobs to the Filipinos, and it’s ready for download and completely free for applicants.

The app is designed to fit the employment procedure for the New Normal Lifestyle. With LapitJobs, it takes advantage of technology and social media for its applicants to get ahead of the competition.

One just needs to download LapitJobs and register for an account. Once activated, the user needs to turn on location to find jobs near him.

One can choose how far the distance of his job will be from his home and what Job Type he prefers. He can also have the option to check a certain location for a job position he would like to apply for.

After one sees the list of jobs, he can also check the Net Pay and Quality of Life Factor Score.

The Net Pay indicates how much of one’s estimated salary will be brought home after deductions for benefits as well as the time one will lose in traffic for transportation.

The Quality of Life Factor Score will let the user know his estimated Job Satisfaction by taking into consideration the distance and the salary if he were to proceed with the job position.

Meanwhile, LapitTauhan makes it easier for a company to be found by job applicants. Once a company has posted an offer, its location will also be included. This portal allows the employers to post their job offers to LapitJobs.

Furthermore, LapitTauhan has a dashboard that can help companies in shortlisting, scheduling and conducting interviews, preferably online, with applicants by informing them of the status of their application. Furthermore, it’s free to register for now.

LapitJobs’ goal is also to create an inclusive community where one can inspire fellow job seekers or be a part of their decision making in choosing a company.

With this in mind, the app has also created a learning resource page: Tambayan. This provides an awesome platform feature for leaders to share their success stories or mentor those seeking advice. / PR
