With strict adherence to health and safety protocol, going out once in a while—especially while on an errand run—may be good for one’s sanity. Surely, Christmas is a little different this year. However, one cannot deny that the spirit of love, joy and sharing still abounds.
The newest mall in the city, AyalaMalls Central Bloc, is making sure its shoppers stay in a positive mood and mindset with not only some soothing music for the holidays but also a fresh collection of art from Cebu’s budding talents.
Partnering with music label 22 Tango Records, here are some of the talents ready to serenade mall-goers every Friday and Saturday until the 25th:
Soak in the joyful spirit of the season and let the angelic voices of Ivy Gallur and Earl Ornopia serenade you on Dec. 11 at The Walk, Cebu IT Park, and Uly & Paolo with Jericho Streegan on Dec. 12 at the Activity Center, AyalaMalls Central Bloc.
Rounding up the musical guests: Catch the euphonious voices of Melody Hodgson and Dane Smith on Dec. 19, the last weekend before Christmas at The Walk. Last, enjoy the sweet and pleasant voices of Mike Fegi and Nikki Shan on Dec. 23 at the Activity Center.
While classic and modern Christmas songs will surely make the list, this batch of artists is capable of sharing local, original tunes as well. Experience the music from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Another project dubbed “Art at the Bloc,” invited participants to send in their works that best showcase the theme “Young and Urban.” With 20 selected works by Cebu’s emerging artists, one can see the collection across the different walls from the second to the fourth floor of Central Bloc.
The exhibit is ongoing until January 2021.
With the spotlight on homegrown talents, this Christmas at Central Bloc is about all things local.
