Public told: Avoid crowd-drawing Christmas events

AS MORE people are infected with coronavirus disease in Benguet, stakeholders in the province are asked to avoid crowd-drawing Christmas events.

This was the appeal of the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) chairman and Governor Melchor Diclas to residents of Benguet to avoid the conduct of traditional Christmas carols, parties, clan reunions, and all other crowd-drawing Christmas events.

"The celebration of Christmas Day will be restricted only within the family," Diclas said.

Diclas added that essential travel of obtaining food and medicine must be limited to avoid the surge in Covid-19 cases and strict adherence to the mandatory wearing of facemask and physical distancing in markets, groceries, and in all other public areas.

"Travel of residents must be limited to accessing essential goods and services, and for work in the offices or industries permitted to operate. Outdoor exercises are allowed provided, basic health protocols are observed," he added.
