Angeles Otop store sale successful

THE Angeles City Government's "12.12 Pasal-One Na Po” 12-day Christmas One Town, One Product (Otop) sale was a success.

Mayor Carmelo "Pogi” Lazatin Jr. said the initiative was geared towards promoting the City Government’s “Pasal-One, Angelen~o Pa” campaign, which aims to promote local products and help local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), especially during the pandemic.

Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel said for 12 days starting December 1, the Otop store, kiosks and Facebook page showcased one item from its 12 local MSME members and put it on sale for that particular day.

On December 12, Manuel added the Otop page held a special live Facebook selling, where the 12 featured products at the Otop store were all sold at special discounted prices.

During the live selling, Lazatin’s Chief Adviser and Tactician Director IC Calaguas, expressed the City Government’s all-out-support to local businesses. She then invited local MSMEs to exhibit their locally made products at the Otop store.

“Napakaganda ng naisipang gawin na ito para matulungan yung mga maliliit na namumuhunan sa siyudad, at mas makilala ang mga Gawang Angelen~o,” Calaguas said.

Angeles City Economic Development Investment Promotions Officer-in-Charge Irish Bonus-Llego meanwhile explained the process on how to be a member of the said store. She also shared that the Otop store’s monthly P500 administrative fee was waived by Lazatin to assist local MSMEs amid the pandemic.

According to Bonus-Llego, products included in the live selling were miniature ships from Adto Ship; metal plant stands by BG Metals; water bonsais of the JJBMS Blooming Greens; plant baskets from Cutud Weavers; recycled bags by Ellen’s Handbags; kitchen organizers from Flores Handicrafts; bayong bags of Tamayuq; hand-painted home decors by Tabak’s Artworks; fashion accessories of K’s creations; wooden kitchenweare from WoodCraft by Madison; Capiz home decorations from Chilona Fabrica; and hair accessories of Stitched by Raj.

Aside from huge discounts, viewers of the 12.12. PasalOne Na Po Otop live selling were also treated to a number of prizes, including fashionable shirts designed by Frederick Policarpio; one of a kind facemasks by Marlon Tuazon; Beautederm sanitizers and beauty soaps; IBAC wooden products; and limited t-shirts from Mahal Na Reina.

Councilor Arvin “Pogs” Suller, who is also present during the live selling, urged all Angelen~os to support local products by giving them as gifts to their loved ones this holiday season.

“Ngayong Pasko at Bagong Taon, magandang panregalo ang mga produktong ginawa ng mga kababayan natin. Nakatulong ka na sa kapwa Angeleno mo, siguradong matutuwa pa ang pagbibigyan mo dahil siguradong maganda at de-kalidad ang regalo mo,” Suller said.
