Over P120,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P128,200 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug bust operations of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City from December 11 to 13, 2020.

The operations also led to the arrest of John Ellan Lagunday, of Purok KBS, Barangay Sum-ag; Shane Robert Colinco, 32, of Purok Pepsi Zone 3, Barangay Bata; Richard Briones, 40, of Barangay Bata; Joel Languido, 29, of Purok Sigay, Barangay 2; Mathew Cordova, 23, of Abada Escay, Barangay Vista Alegre and his minor companion.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Lagunday was arrested by operatives of Police Station 9 after he sold a sachet shabu to a police undercover in Purok San Jose 1, Barangay Sum-ag around 2:30 a.m Sunday.

Police recovered from Lagunday’s possession five sachets of shabu weighing 1.6 grams with estimated market value of P10,600, the P500 marked money and a .22 caliber revolver loaded with one live ammunition.

Languido was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 around 11:45 p.m. Friday.

Police recovered from Languido’s possession five sachets of shabu weighing 2 grams with an estimated market value of P13,600, the P200 marked money and drug paraphernalia.

Colinco and Briones were arrested by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit in Purok Pepsi Zone 3, Barangay Bata around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Recovered from the suspects’ possession were eight sachets of shabu weighing 25 grams with estimated market value of P170,000 and the P500 marked money.

Cordova and his minor companion were arrested by operatives of Police Station 5 at Purok Progreso Zone 1, Barangay Vista Alegre around 5:30 p.m Friday.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession five sachets of shabu weighing seven grams with estimated market value of P87,000 and the P500 marked money.

The suspects have been detained at the custodial facility of Police Stations 2, 3, 5 and 9 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Cordova and the minor will also be charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
