FOR the second year, the Department of Trade and Industry awarded the Municipality of Liloan, Cebu the Most Resilient Municipality in the Philippines.
Liloan garnered first place as Most Competitive Municipality in Resilience at the 8th DTI Regional Competitiveness Summit, besting all other 1st and 2nd class municipalities in the country.
The DTI Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index Bureau hosted the Summit held via Facebook Live with DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez leading the awarding ceremonies.
The Resiliency Award is given to the Local Government Unit with exemplary performance as the most resilient in its infrastructure, governance, social and environmental systems, recognizing the LGU’s capacity to facilitate businesses and industries to create jobs, raise productivity, and increase the incomes of citizens over time despite the shocks and stresses it encounters.
Under the administration of Mayor Christina Frasco, Liloan has garnered several national and local awards for good governance including Top Model Municipality in the Philippines and Model Municipality in the aspect of education, care for the elderly, revenue generation, and business friendliness.
