NEW courses will be offered at Benguet State University, one of the country’s top-performing state university.
Felipe Comila, BSU’s newly appointed president, said the state university will introduce new courses such as medicine, law, accountancy and certificate in crisis management.
Comila added paperwork for all courses is still being prepared, saying they remain bullish to implement the certificate of crisis in management by first semester of the school year.
The new president said in 2022, they are eyeing to have a first step on realizing the three courses.
“So 2022, I would see the initial realization of all of this, completing all the technologies, facilities that are needed in medicine not many laboratories for law, accountancy and certificate in crisis management,” he added.
The BSU official said graduate programs of the university will also be offered at their two campuses in Buguias and Bokod.
To date, there are seven doctorate, 32 masteral, 19 undergraduate programs and special short courses offered by the university.
Comila also said an upgrade in the equipment for the Buguias and Bokod campuses is on the pipeline, including new vehicles and buildings.
The Buguias campus will also offer graduate programs.
Aside from the upgrading of equipment, Comila added he will give attention to faculty, staff and set development goals to address the Covid-19 pandemic, such as sustaining protocols set by the government.
The BSU official added there is also a need to sustain health and wellness among employees and students, and sustain the use of learning modalities and work-at-home.
