THE bid to further improve the peace and order situation in La Castellana has gained boost, as the town is getting more support from the government especially the Philippine National Police (PNP), its top official said.

Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan said the Municipal Government of La Castellana is one of the recipient-local government units (LGUs) of a new police mobile from the PNP.

The patrol car was received by Nicor-Mangilimutan from Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas Director Brigadier General Rolando Miranda in rites held in Iloilo City Wednesday, December 16.

It will surely help boost the peace and order in the southern Negros Occidental locality, she added.

The mayor said the Municipal Government has also purchased one brand new patrol car, aside from the old one that was fully repaired and reconditioned.

"We also added two more units of motorcycles for the police station's warrant and intelligence section for effective and efficient delivery of public service," Nicor-Mangilimutan said, adding that "this will further strengthen our efforts to maintain peace and order within my jurisdiction."

In terms of support, the PNP is also constructing a sub-station at the town's Barangay Cabacungan.

Other assistance include repair of kitchen and mess hall, personnel's quarter and detention facilities, and installation of airconditioned units at the main police station.

Nicor-Mangilimutan said peace and order has been one of the top priorities of the local government under her administration.

"If a locality is peaceful, the development and progress would be fast," she added.
