Sungduan: 6th and 7th wave

ANOTHER 600 families in Cagayan were provided with basic relief assistance by the Rotary Club of Metro Baguio (RCMB), which also helped a family rebuild their house during the sixth and seventh wave of “Action Tulong para sa Cagayan” supported by the club’s partners in service.

The relief distribution team headed by Rotarian Dr. Christopher Ian Cabalza took a different route going to Barangay Agugaddan, Penablanca after being advised not to take the road from Tawi Bridge due to path safety reasons.

The new route was also challenging, but this did not stop them from going to their target areas where they provided the basic needs of communities.

At least 600 families in Dodan and Agugaddan, Penablanca, which include the Aeta community, were given relief packs with three kilograms of rice, instant noodles, canned goods, Coffee-Mate, coffee, sugar, bread, chocolate powder, toothbrush, toothpaste and small cash during the sixth wave of relief distribution.

Pastora Angeline Padilla from Agugaddan expressed her deep gratitude for the assistance given to her community, which was severely affected by typhoon Ulysses.

Meanwhile, during the seventh wave of relief operations/cash donation, the “Project Bahay Silungan” was also implemented.

The team provided cash donation to help rebuild the house of Andang Bitamog and family, which was devastated by Typhoon Ulysses.

The projects were made possible with RCMB’s partners in service: 4T Foundation International, USA, Bheng Baustista, LTO Tuao, Dr. Cabalza Medical-Surgical Clinic, Architect John Bernard Alejo of Sandalan ng Bayan Foundation, Dra. Josephine Cabalbag, and volunteers.

RCMB President Jerry Chan said they will continue to offer a helping hand to the communities in need in Cagayan with the support of their partners in service and volunteers.

May help continue to reach the severely devastated communities in Cagayan and other provinces.
