NINETEEN agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Bago City received their land titles from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-South earlier this week.

The farmer-beneficiaries will share the 23.0678 hectares of the landholding formerly owned by Ibarra Olgado located in Barangay Busay in the southern Negros Occidental locality.

Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Cecilia Alianza said that after the land acquisition and distribution, the agency will help empower the ARBs by providing them support services to increase their production and household income.

Alianza emphasized that aside from serving as proof of ownership, the certificate of land ownership award (Cloa) also contains the restrictions and conditions provided under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law as well as of other applicable laws.

Judicial Form Account Officer Ari Arceo, for his part, thanked the new landowners for their cooperation and support to the programs and activities of the agency like the land tenure security program.

"Your support always gives us motivation and justification to continue with our work. We cannot be hampered by any action that would delay the delivery of our mandates," Arceo added.
