About Trisports Solutions Inc.

It was in December of 2012 when a group of friends saw the opportunity to offer innovation and more options in the multisport community. With the growing presence of multisport events in the country, Trisports Solutions Inc. founded by Mikey Chua, Timmy Chua and Carlo Sampan, paved the way to introduce triathlon to the grassroots and new entrants through its affordable fees yet quality events management in new and promising locations, such as Ilocos Norte. Since then, the group has expanded its network and has established its name in the sports organizing industry, with its holistic approach in providing different avenues and platforms for health-conscious communities through collaboration, innovation and sustainable community development through sports tourism.

The first and flagship event was Tri Ilocos Norte, with just less than a hundred multisport participants. Over the years, sports tourism initiatives and opportunities grew with the inclusion of other sports during the race weekend such as ultimate Frisbee, rugby clinics and open water swims. For Tri Ilocos Norte, our partnership with the Hotels, Resorts and Restaurants Association, along with the support of the Tourism of Office of Ilocos Norte and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte allowed us to have more awareness and engagement on the culture and heritage of Ilocos Norte with the landscape including culinary, environmental and experiential activities.

On a tourism aspect, teams participating are mostly composed of families and friends, spending at least 5 days in the area not just to race, but to visit tourist spots as well. The designs of our materials were co-created with local designers and made from indigenous materials, and we partnered with the local environmental group for awareness of their causes.

“As we see a deeper role and sense of our existence in the Philippine multisport Community, our efforts were aligned and directed by our purpose of influencing people to live a better lifestyle. Our events can be considered as panaceas to any health threats of any form, and we believe that collectively, we can address and be responsive to the needs of our community by becoming positive influencers especially in the area of health and wellness. We continuously strive for improvement, provide an excellent experience for our participants, and satisfy our partners’ goals through our remarkable delivery. With our ongoing interaction between partners, we create the basis of trust and mutual understanding that enables us to go for more ambitious objectives and lead us sequentially in broadening our partnership scope in sports tourism.” – Carlo Sampan, Managing Partner and VP for marketing of Trisports Solutions Inc.
