THE homicide and arson section of the San Pedro Police Station, which is under the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), is now conducting an in-depth investigation on the death of a law student.
Around 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020, the body of the victim identified as Enrilie Andalique, 36, single, and employee of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC), who was renting a room in Rizal Extension, Barangay 38-D, Poblacion, Davao City, was found.
The victim was believed to have been killed three days before his body was discovered inside the room he was renting bathed in his own blood. A number of stab wounds in his body and a strangulation mark on his neck were also found.
Based on the information from DCPO spokesperson Police Captain Rosario Aguilar, they are looking at robbery as the motive of the crime.
In a Facebook post, a netizen thanked the victim for his generosity and kindness in the comment section saying Andalique was a person who can be relied on especially in times of need.
“Rip sir, nadaganan paka namo sa una year 2017 tong need namo og cash giprenda namo amo ATM dako jud tong tabang sir huhuhu justice for the family may you rest in peace sir (we were able to run to you last 2017 when we needed cash. We pawned our ATM to you, you were really a big help),” a netizen who extended his condolences said.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) discovered a 30-centimeter knife and a belt in the crime scene.
Andalique’s remains are now in Angel Funeral Homes awaiting his family.
Meanwhile, the Jose Maria College- College of Law, where Andalique was its former student, expressed its strong condemnation of his brutal killing.
On its Facebook post, JMC-College of Law calls for a full investigation on his killing as it expresses its deepest solidarity and sympathy to his family, friends and colleagues.
In their statement, which was posted on their Facebook post, JMC-College of Law recalls the victim as “warm-hearted and much-loved law student.”
“The College of Law seeks the help of those who may have any information into the circumstances of Enrilie’s death to help in securing full investigation on this case, with a view to bringing those responsible into justice,” the statement added.
