THE Municipal Trial Court in La Trinidad, Benguet will be closed until December 30 to give way for the facilitation of contact tracing, testing, quarantine, and disinfection after one of its workers tested
positive for coronavirus.
Executive Judge Marietta Brawner-Cualing issued memorandum 2020-024, saying the closure of Municipal Trial Court and disinfection of the Hall of Justice in La Trinidad was approved by Court Administrator through Deputy Court Administrator Raul Villanueva after a worker was confirmed positive for the virus.
Although the court will be physically closed until December 30, it will still accept pleadings and motions filed electronically pursuant to the circulars issued by the Supreme Court.
Until December 30, a work-from-home arrangement and videoconferencing for cases already set maybe conducted and staff may continue working at home.
A contract tracing will be done to determine who may have gotten in close or direct contact with the concerned staff dating back seven days from December 16.
"If there should by any who hopefully no, be found positive as well for the virus then they should also undergo swab test," the memorandum added.
A separate memorandum will be issued regarding the disinfection of the Hall of Justice of La Trinidad.
As of December 20, La Trinidad has 207 total Covid-19 active cases, followed by Mankayan with 118, Itogon with 83, and Tuba with 35.
Benguet Province has 497 active cases, 2,432 recoveries, and 29 total deaths.
