Oro, MisOr continue to record low Covid-19 numbers

THE City Health Office of Cagayan de Oro reported Tuesday, December 22, four new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, the lowest in nearly four months.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the city is now at 2,734.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the four new local cases, one is a close contact of previously confirmed case, one is a local authorized person outside residence (Apor), and two are local

index cases.

Of the 2,734 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 399 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,335 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,335 local cases consist of 179 persons deprived of liberty, 1,173 local index cases and 983 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 388 active cases, 112 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 268 outpatients, and eight are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 26 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results came out negative over the weekend. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,215.

Of the figure, 284 are LSIs, 106 are ROFs, and 1,825 are local cases (community: 1,522; Apors: 303).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 131.

Meanwhile, Misamis Oriental recorded five new Covid-19 cases, all of which are local transmission, bringing the number of Covid-19 infection in the province to 1,178.

Of the 1,178 total cases, 201 are active cases, 951 have recovered, and 26 died.
