Visually impaired families receive gifts

ONE hundred seventy visually impaired families were selected as beneficiaries by the Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-COR) and Regional Advisory Council (RAC) member Dona Digna Rosario as part of its annual Yuletide gifts distribution.

In a ceremony held at the PRO-COR grounds in Camp Major Bado Dangwa on December 18, 100 participants physically attended the program to comply with the requirements of the local government of La Trinidad and in accordance to the safety protocols during this time of pandemic aside from other safety protocols strictly observed during the entire duration of the program.

"In the midst of this pandemic, we must always remember that the real meaning of this season is the celebration of the birth of our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ," said PRO-COR Director Brigadier General R'win Pagkalinawan.

Beneficiaries received assorted grocery food packs and face shields from PRO-COR aside from P50,000 given by Pagkalinawan for the visually impaired beneficiaries.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) cancelled all celebration this yuletide season in all regional offices nationwide and instead encouraged everyone to celebrate with loved ones in the simplest way possible and in observance of the safety standards during this pandemic.

In response, the beneficiaries showed their appreciation by showcasing their talents in singing.
