Oro logs 15 new coronavirus cases; total now at 2,749

FIFTEEN residents of Cagayan de Oro have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 2,749, an official said Wednesday, December 23, 2020.

City Health Office Medical Officer Ma. Aleta Santos said of the 15 new local Covid-19 cases, eight are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, there are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and four local index cases.

Of the 2,749 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 399 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,350 cases are local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 389 active cases, 117 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 264 outpatients, and eight are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 14 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results came out negative over the weekend. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,229.

Of the figure, 284 are LSIs, 106 are ROFs, and 1,839 are local cases (community: 1,534; Apors: 305).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 131.
