DOH recognizes Zamboanga City's Covid-19 response

THE local government was recognized by the Department of Health (DOH) for its efforts in chartering the regional response against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Zamboanga City was one the local government units, national government agencies, and stakeholders in the Zamboanga Peninsula recognized during the DOH’s Year-End Recognition Rites: Covid-19 Heroes Behind the Numbers held virtually Monday, December 21, 2020.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has reaffirmed the city’s continued commitment in fighting Covid-19 with its battle plan of feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and empowering families to protect themselves as the first line of defense.

“The real fight must begin in the first line of defense, our families. The real battle begins in our families, to continue to be committed in working together as a city,” Salazar said.

The year-end recognition was conferred to local government units, local chief executives, national government agencies, stakeholders, and health workers in appreciation of their collective efforts and their critical role in chartering the regional response against Covid-19. (SunStar Zamboanga)
