5 Barmm LGUs receive P25M each to build town hall

FIVE towns have received P25 million each for financing and capability development on Thursday, December 24, 2020, from the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MILG-Barmm).

MILG-Barmm Secretary Naguib Sinarimbo said the fund will be used by the beneficiary-town to construct a two-story municipal hall to better serve their respective constituents.

Sinarimbo said the beneficiary-towns are Sultan Dumalondong, Butig, Poona Bayabao and Lumbaca Unayan of Lanao del Sur and Pandag of Maguindanao. The five towns are among the identified municipalities with no permanent and conclusive municipal hall for the longest time.

Sinarimbo said the project is part of MILG’s comprehensive intervention and support to the local governments through its Local Government Facilities Development Program and the Support to Local Government Unit Infrastructure Development Project.

“We are committed to completing the construction of government centers to ensure that our constituents are able to approach their local elected officials in designated buildings and where services maybe accessed by the people,” he said. (SunStar Zamboanga)
