3 wanted persons nabbed in Eastern Visayas

POLICE apprehended three wanted persons in separate operations in Eastern Visayas from December 27 to 28, 2020.

In Sogod, Southern Leyte, police arrested 50-year-old farmer Floro Pepito Cillo by virtue of a warrant dated February 22, 2019.

Cillo, listed as top 3 most wanted person-municipal level, is facing charges for violation of section 5(A) and (D) of Republic Act (RA) 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004.

Operating unit from Sogod Municipal Police Station, led by Staff Sergeant Igmedio Alboleras Jr., under the supervision of Major Dexter Edillo, arrested Cillo around 11:05 a.m. Monday, December 28.

The judge recommended a bail bond of P12,000 for each case.

On December 27, police arrested Dexter Contridas, 21, and resident of Zumarraga, Samar.

The accused was facing a warrant dated September 18, 2018, for attempted murder.

Presiding judge Agerico Avila of RTC-Branch 29 in Catbalogan City recommended a bail bond of P120,000 for his temporary liberty.

The arrest was made by joint elements of Zumarraga Municipal Police Station, led by Lieutenant Leslie Montabon, officer in charge, and Catbalogan City Police Station, led by Major Francisco Amor Sumpo Jr, officer in charge, under the direct supervision of Colonel Glenn Oliver Cinco, director of Samar Police Provincial Office.

In Mondragon, Northern Samar, police also arrested the rank 1 most wanted person-municipal level on December 27.

The accused, Juliefe Diaz Malobago, was facing a warrant dated April 10, 2017, for violation of section 4 (a) in relation to section 6 (a) of RA 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.

Judge Alma Consuelo B.D Esidera of RTC-Branch 20 in Catarman, Northern Samar did not recommend a bail bond to the accused.

The operating units include Mondragon Municipal Police Station, led Captain Wilfredo Jimenez Jr.; NSPIDMU led by Staff Sergeant Archie Traje, under the supervision of Major Anthony Din; Northern Samar Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit, led by Major Eddie Esidera; First Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company, led by Major Edwin Oloan Jr., force commander; and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Northern Samar, led by Captain Deogracias Diaz.

The arrested persons were brought to their respective police stations prior to turn-over to the courts of origin.
