10 LSIs positive for coronavirus in Negros Occidental

TEN locally stranded individuals (LSI) who returned home to Negros Occidental before a moratorium was imposed tested positive for the novel coronavirus, Dr. Zephard Gerhart Caelian, Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Division head, said on Monday, December 28, 2020.

Caelian, who heads the province's Incident Management Team, said the ten LSIs are now quarantined at the quarantine facilities of their respective local government units.

On the other hand, a total of 632 LSIs, who arrived from December 20 to 21, tested negative, he said.

The rest who arrived during the period were returning overseas Filipinos, who were not subjected to swab tests, Caelian said.

Seventeen local government units in the province have implemented moratoriums on returning LSI covering from December 21 to January 5.
