6 Oro residents infected; total Covid-19 cases now at 2,808

SIX residents tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro to 2,808.

City Health Office Medical Officer Ma. Aleta Santos said two of the six new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases and four are local index cases.

Of the 2,808 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 400 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,408 cases are local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 322 active cases, 112 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 204 outpatients, and six are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered nine new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results came out negative. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,347.

Of the figure, 286 are LSIs, 106 are ROFs, and 1,955 are local cases (community: 1,639; Apors: 316).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 139.
