Alt Space +: A comfy working space plus good coffee

ARE you having a hard time focusing on your work or study at home? Well, there’s a space for you outside that feels just like home plus good coffee, too!

Alt Space + Co-working Space is the first co-working space in Mabalacat City.

Alt Space + Co-owner Cedrick John Alejandrino shares that a co-working space is an alternative place suitable for freelancers, start-ups, small teams, students, and other groups of people.

“We provide space needs, be it for working or studying, that is easily accessible and cost-effective,” Alejandrino said.

Alt Space + is the idea of five professionals, namely, Alejandrino, a certified public accountant; Floyd Dizon, an architect; Arwin Garcia, an information technology specialist; Austin John Magsino, a marketing specialist; and Jeremy Lewel Castro, an accountancy graduate.

Alt Space + is a shorter version of the phrase “alternative space” while the “+” sign meaning other offerings the space has.

The co-working space opened in June 2020, during the height of the community lockdown in Pampanga.

Since people were not allowed to go out then, Alejandrino said the co-working space did not make much.

“That’s when we thought of selling coffee beans produced by our local farmers from Benguet and Palawan,” he shared.

When it started as a co-working space, it offered seven blends namely Arabica Medium, Arabica Dark, Benguet, Kalinga, Barako, Hazelnut and Butterscotch. To date, it now has 23 blends for sale.

Its coffee offerings follow a Chemistry theme where you can choose available blends from a Periodic Table-like menu.

Coffee can be served at the co-working space while you work or study, or you can buy your favorite blends in single or big packs. It also has wrapped coffee packs perfect for gifting.

“There’s always this notion that brewed coffee is expensive, but it is not,” Alejandrino shared.

Alt Space + coffee prices start from P40, while the coworking rate starts from P70 per hour for non-members and P60 for members.

The co-working rate includes unlimited coffee and internet connection.

Ready to visit Alt Space +? The co-working space is located on the second floor of RAQ Square, Lemens Village in Barangay Mabiga, Mabalacat City. The space is open from 12 noon to 8 p.m.
