Bacolod reverts curfew schedule to 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

THE City Government of Bacolod will continue to impose the curfew hours from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m., based on the approved city ordinance.

This after Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued Executive Order (EO) No. 84 for the extension of the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) in the city from January 1 to 31, 2021.

Leonardia signed the EO on December 31, 2020.

For the period of this extended MGCQ, Leonardia said that under City Ordinance No. 947, Series of 2020, granting flexibility in the exercise of emergency power of the city mayor, daily curfew hours will continue to be observed from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

On December 16, 2020, the City Government adjusted the curfew hours from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. for the early morning Aguinaldo masses until December 31.

Leonardia said all the provisions of EO 73 Series of 2020, dated November 30, 2020, which placed the City under MGCQ from December 1 to 31, 2020, will continue to be in full force and effect for the duration of the extended MGCQ until its expiry period.

As provided for in the “Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine in the Philippines with Amendments as of December 14, 2020,” persons below 15 years old, those who are over 65 years of age, with immunodeficiencies, comorbidities, or other health risks, and pregnant women, will still be required to remain in their residences at all times, except when obtaining essential goods and services or for work in permitted industries and offices.

For the period of this extended MGCQ, the selling of liquor, wine, beer or any alcoholic or intoxicating beverage will continue to be allowed only from 12 p.m to 6 p.m.

Consumption of such alcoholic beverages, however, will only be done within private residences and subject to other conditions, the EO further stated.

Leonardia said the proper wearing of face masks and face shields, hand sanitation practices, and social distancing in all public places and public and private transport will continue to be strictly observed.

He said mass gatherings such as movie screenings, concerts and other entertainment activities, religious services, and work conferences will continue to be allowed provided that participants will be limited to fifty percent of the seating or venue capacity.
