Drug surrenderer, 2 others nabbed

A DRUG surrender and two newly-identified personalities were arrested in two separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga Sibugay, the police said Monday, January 4.

Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspects as follows: Jameboy Pelayo, 24; Jeffrey Balutan, 30; and Leoner Davis, 33.

Ylangan said Pelayo, a drug surrenderer, was nabbed in a buy-bust operation around 10:45 p.m. Sunday in Ligaya village, Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Seized from Pelayo were some P2,000 worth of shabu, rolled aluminum foils, and P500 marked money.

Ylagan said Balutan and Davis, both newly-identified drug personalities, were arrested by joint police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives in a buy-bust operation around 5:15 p.m. Sunday in

Purok Sampaguita in Tawagan Sur village, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Recovered from the two suspects were some P1,360 worth of shabu and P1,000 marked money.

The three suspects were detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
