Mandauehanon Bacon faces Argentinian Sena in Miami

JAMES Bacon kicks off 2021 for the Filipino pugs as he takes on battle-scarred veteran Ramon de la Cruz Serna on Jan. 29 in a 10-round fight at the Manuel Artime Community Theater in Miami, Florida.

The 30-year-old Bacon had a very productive 2020 despite the Covid-19 pandemic. He moved to Miami and trained under the guidance of Cuban trainer Osmiri “Moro” Fernandez. He had two fights in 2020 and won both contests by knockout. He scored a second round knockout of Gonzalo Carlos Dallera on Oct. 17, 2020 and then followed it up with a second round stoppage of Roque Agustin Junco on Nov. 20, 2020.

Bacon, a native of Mandaue City, is now 5-1 since he came out of retirement in 2019. The former ALA Boy hung up his gloves back in 2012 following a unanimous decision win over Gadwin Tubigon.

The 34-year-old Sena should be a good activity fight for Bacon. The Argentine is a 12-year-veteran and has a total of 53 fights. He also has a tough chin and has been knocked out just five times.

Sena, however, has not fought for more than a year and won just one of six fights in 2019. His last fight was a disqualification defeat against Josec Ruiz.

Bacon is 25-4 with 17 knockouts, while Sena is 23-27-3 with 13 knockouts.
