BLISTT border control extended until January 24

A HEALTH declaration form and valid government identification card (ID) will be required anew at checkpoints within Baguio City, La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba and Tublay (BLISTT) checkpoints from January 10 until January 24, 2020.

In a joint advisory on January 7, the local chief executives of BLISTT recognized the need to continue efforts to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus and address the high daily attack rate of the virus and the positivity rate in their tests, as well as manage limited health resources.

The mayors decided to again limit the entry between BLISTT areas to travels and at border checkpoints, with the public expected to present valid government IDs as proof of residence together with health declaration forms.

Exempted from the checkpoint requirements are health workers, uniformed personnel, members of the City/Provincial/Municipal Contact Tracing Teams, City/Provincial/Municipal Covid-19 Task Force and personnel in the agencies and local government units.

Cargo and logistics services and service providers for water, electricity, telecommunications, information communication technology and waste management utilities will still be allowed through checkpoints.

Non-resident travelers coming to LISTT areas from other regions and provinces must present their travel authorities and medical certificates issued in their place of origin.

“We urge everyone to continue to limit their movement and activities and prioritize the health and safety especially of our senior citizens, children, and immunocompromised constituents. Let us continue to practice the health protocols that have become part of our daily activities, such as washing of hands, wearing of face masks and face shields, maintaining safe distance from others and avoiding unnecessary gatherings and indoor settings," the mayors in the joint advisory said.
