Over 43,000 students get free miscellaneous fees

A TOTAL of 43,548 students from the different elementary, junior and senior high schools in the Province of Guimaras were given free miscellaneous fees.

The Provincial Government of Guimaras, headed by Governor Samuel Gumarin, turned over P3,654,139 under the Special Purpose Fund to the Boy Scout of the Philippines (BSP), Girl Scout of the Philippines (GSP) and Philippine Red Cross fees for Guimaras public school students.

The ceremonial distribution of certificate of full payment and checks was held on January 7, 2021 at the Provincial Food Court, San Miguel Jordan, Guimaras.

Abraham Balibalos, coordinator of BSP-Guimaras, and Killeen Peñalber, Council Scout of BSP-Guimaras, received the check amounting to P1,223,750.

GSP vice-president for field Dr. XZ Dignadice; Mariz Alimpungat, GSP Technical Assistant; and Arnen Tanaleon-Rivera, Education Program Specialist II and coordinator of GSP Guimaras, accepted the check amounting to P1,288,529.

Evelyn G. Garcia, Beverly G. Gando and Jennebell Omadle of the Philippine Red Cross received the allocated check amounting to P1,141,860.

Ma. Roselyn J. Palcat, OIC schools division superintendent of the Department of Education-Guimaras, graced the ceremony with her presence.

The said initiative of the Provincial Government of Guimaras has been implemented for the past seven years. (PR)
