Troops discover unexploded ordnances in Datu Salibo

TROOPS of the 6th Infantry Battalion (IB) discovered two unexploded ordnance in Datu Salibo, Maguindanao, military officials said Friday. January 8, 2021.

Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan, Jr., commander of the Western Mindanao Command, said the troops were conducting camp maintenance and development Thursday, January 7, at the Patrol Base in Pandi village, Datu Salibo when they discovered the explosives.

Vinluan said the troops immediately cordoned the area and coordinated with the explosive ordnance disposal team for the proper disposal of the unexploded ordnances.

“I commend the diligent and vigilant forces of the 6th Infantry Battalion for their prompt actions that forestalled the bomb plot of the terrorists,” said Major General Juvymax Uy, commander of the Joint Task Force Central.

Meanwhile, Vinluan lauded the troops of the Joint Task Force Central and said, “With your resolve, you made headways in suppressing internal security threats, thwarting several bomb ploys in central Mindanao.”

“We also ascribe these successive gains to the support and the trust reposed by the people of Maguindanao to the military,” Vinluan added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
