Hotels, resort offer attractive staycation, dining offers during Sinulog week

TO WOO local patrons, hotels and resort in Cebu are offering guests staycation and dining offers this week.

Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino assured guests will have “the wonderful experience of the festival with its special room and dining offers.”

The hotel is offering a Sinulog weekend room promo at P3,500 net per night (single occupancy) or P3,700 net per night for two guests.

The special promo comes with a complimentary merienda buffet that guests can enjoy at its lobby lounge and a 20 percent discount that they can use at any of the hotel’s dining outlets.

The first 20 guests who book for the promo will also get Sinulog freebies courtesy of the hotel. The Sinulog Weekend room promo runs from Jan. 15 to 18, 2021.

Aside from room rate promos, Waterfront Cebu is showcasing Filipino delicacies such as sapin-sapin, kutsinta, palitaw and biko at its “Celebrate Cebu” dining offer at the hotel’s lobby lounge.

January is supposed to be one of the strongest months for Cebu City hotels. Coming from a Christmas and New Year holiday break, guests both foreign and balikbayan usually extend their stay in Cebu to witness one of the country’s sought after festivals.

Unfortunately, the accommodation players won’t be making that much money this year after international travel was pummeled by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Scrambling to get back on their feet, hotel and resort properties are thinking of ways to revive customers’ spending appetite through promotional offers, especially during the Sinulog Festival, a week-long event celebrated every third Sunday of January.

Quest Hotel and Conference Center-Cebu said it has an ongoing home promotion that guests and local residents can use over the Sinulog weekend. Overnight stay starts at P2,600 net for deluxe rooms with a breakfast set for two.

The hotel is also offering dining buffets featuring Cebuano fiesta favorites. Its Sinulog dinner buffet from Jan. 15 to 16 is at P980 net per person while its lunch buffet on Jan. 16 to 17 is at P714 net per person. The hotel’s breakfast buffet is P605 net per person.

Mactan-based Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort, on the other hand, converted its art gallery into a shrine so guests can pay their respects to the image of Sto. Niño. The resort is also offering a special lunch buffet promo on Jan. 17.

Palm Grass Hotel, in its official Facebook page, is also enticing guests to experience pre-colonial dance worship in Cebu through a live performance on Jan. 14 at 2:30 p.m. Palm Grass is located a few steps away from the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño de Cebu.

The hotel will also relaunch its Heritage Adventure Trail where guests can try maglubok, magtahop, kulintang, arnis and other activities.

For staycations, the hotel is offering a Barkada Sinulog room treat for only P650 per head with a minimum of four people in one room. The package is inclusive of breakfast. Promo runs from Jan. 12 to 22.

A hotel in downtown Cebu is also offering an attractive room rate.

For the Sinulog season, a deluxe room in One Central Hotel for the whole month of January is priced at P1,888 per night. Its Sinulog brunch buffet is at P799 good for two persons. (JOB with KOC)
