Zamboanga anti-drug stings net 3, P410,000 shabu

THREE drug personalities were arrested, while some P410,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police announced Tuesday, January 12.

The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) identified the arrested suspects as Sharwina Hassan Jaji, 50, who carries the aliases of Alwida Unaid Amirul and Sharmina Jaji; Kiram Tahil Aiyub, 31; and Wahid Ahallol Sawaba, 48.

Police Major Salvador Galvez, ZCPO's Station 6 chief, said that Jaji was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11:05 a.m. Monday in Sitio Asinan in Kasanyangan village.

Seized from the suspect were some 51 grams of shabu with an estimated worth of P350,000, a pouch, and P200 marked money.

Meanwhile, Police Major Elmer Solon, ZCPO's Station 11 chief, said Aiyub and Sawaba were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 9:40 p.m. Monday also in Kasanyangan village, Zamboanga City.

Recovered from the two were some P60,000 worth of shabu, a coin purse, and P200 marked money.

The suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against them, according to the two police officials. (SunStar Zamboanga)
