LPU-Davao kicks off 2021 with Educators' Conference

THE first quarter of 2021 sees a perfect opportunity for Lyceum of the Philippines-Davao (LPU-Davao) to organize one of its annual big events -- Educators' Conference (EdCon).

Albeit to be held virtually due to the ongoing health outbreak caused by Covid-19 pandemic, LPU Davao assured that this event will be nothing short of a gold mine for innovations and new ideas.

EdCon, conducted first by LPU-Davao last 2018, has proven to be the institution's successful pioneering event that not only gathers the best of the educators of Mindanao but also helps bridge the gap in learning and address the needs of the community and the world at large.

With a theme "Cultivating Excellence, Building on Strength," LPU-Davao pushes the envelope further as this year's edition will be their biggest one yet.

Slated on January 23, 2021, the Educators' Conference will delve more deeply into the discussion of the status quo particularly flexible online learning and the alternative operation models during and after the pandemic.

This year's resource persons for the Educators' Conference will be Undersecretary for Finance of the Department of Education Annalyn M. Sevilla, and Vice President for Academic Affairs of LPU Laguna, Dr. Lerma Y. Calingasan.

"In the Educators' Conference, participants will obtain a better understanding of alternative operating models that schools may adapt as well as improvements in the delivery of instruction now that classes are being conducted online," Vice President and Chief Academic Officer of LPU-Davao Dr. Felipe G. Balingit Jr. said on the purpose of conducting Educators' Conference.

Educators from Zamboanga Peninsula and Soccsksargen are expected to attend the event. However, Dr. Balingit stressed that this event is also open to educators residing outside Mindanao.

He added that LPU-Davao is expecting more participants this year as the event will be conducted online.

"Educators will really benefit from this event. Even in the comfort of our homes, nothing beats the feeling of being able to learn new ideas. And in this event, our participants can expect a productive conference filled with fun and wisdom from our resource persons," he expressed.

Registration in the Educators' Conference is free. Interested participants can register through https://tinyurl.com/LPUDavaoEdCon2021.
