Man hurt in stabbing

A 40-YEAR-OLD man was injured after he was stabbed at Araneta-Alunan Avenue, Barangay 35, Bacolod City Thursday evening, March 5.

Police identified the victim as Ernie Francisco, of Barangay 30.

Police Major Jovil Sedel, chief of Police Station 1, said the victim was at Araneta-Alunan Avenue, Barangay 35 when Ramon Telopio, 36, attacked him using a bladed weapon for unknown reason at about 11 p.m.

The victim sustained wounds on his right jaw and back portion of his body. He was brought to the Bacolod Adventist Hospital.

Sedel said Telopio, a resident of Barangay Lopez Jaena, Murcia, was also arrested in follow-up operation in Barangay 35.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 1 and facing charges.

Meanwhile, an estimated P9,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 2 at Purok Narra Baybay, Barangay 8, Bacolod City Thursday evening.

The operation also led to the arrest of Analiza Gando and her two companions.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said Gando and her two companions were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at about 10:30 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 11 sachets of shabu and the P200 marked money.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
