Man hurt in stabbing

A 37-YEAR-OLD was injured after he was stabbed in Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City Monday afternoon, January 11.

Police identified the victim as Haba Gomez, of Barangay Mansilingan.

Police records showed Gomez sustained a wound on his right shoulder after he was attacked by Kim Guzman, 30, of Barangay Mansilingan, using an ice pick around 4:30 p.m.

The victim was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) and is now in stable condition.

Guzman was also arrested in a follow-up operation by operatives of Police Station 7 in Barangay Mansilingan.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 7. He will be charged for physical injury.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man was injured after he was shot in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City on January 10.

Police identified the victim as Ace Venegas, of Barangay 2.

Police records showed the victim was having a coffee when Joemarie Tabajunda, of Barangay 2, fired at him using an improvised firearm or pin gun around 9:45 a.m. and fled.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound on his left arm. He was brought to the CLMMRH and is now in stable condition.

Investigators of Police Station 2 are eyeing personal grudge as possible motive in shooting the victim, and they are now preparing the charges to be filed against the suspect, who is still at large.
