Goho: Political correctness vs truth

THESE days, we find many "politically correct" individuals that try to pass themselves off as decent and righteous human beings who supposedly belong among the significant contributors of society.

They are usually driven by outward projections disguised in the form of niceties, decency and courtesy in trying to avoid offending anyone. But sadly, it is ironic how some of these individuals turn out to be the most vicious and cunning behind closed doors.

In reality, this can be highly detrimental to the overall growth and genuine progress of society with their false facades and unwillingness to confront issues directly. In our complex world, artificiality rules and there is departing from truth and authenticity which is why man things are vastly empty and watered down. Humanity is blatantly corrupt with all the destruction and malevolence we witness every day.

Political correctness is evidently worsening in the present times, a prime example of a willful sweeping of matters under the rug. Many fake people would rather falsely take the so-called high road by beating around the bush than addressing matters directly. And that is when we come to produce pretentious backstabbers and two faced shape shifters that create more and more meaningless and shallow relationships.

One can imagine a bizarre world where we have to be wary and mindful of every little thing we say due to fears of being ostracized or offending a sensitive group. Any act of suppressing free speech is highly detrimental for society in the long run. There is simply something troubling about having the right to impose actions and behaviors in silencing others to conform to a subjective tribal standard. This may ultimately be a form of tyranny guised through maintaining decency through various cultural appropriations. It is ultimately a dangerous form of control.

There seems to be many easily triggered and sensitive people out there. While common decency is essential for societal interactions and discrimination in all forms needs to be condemned, it can be cumbersome when one walks on eggshells. Our subjective feelings should not override objective facts. We simply should not twist truth based on personal preferences and lines need to be drawn clearly.

We cannot go on acting mindlessly with no regard for others, but we also cannot simply tiptoe on every interaction we encounter where authenticity becomes non-existent. Sincerity has become a rarity in this fragile and fractured world and most of humanity sulk in the many empty and temporal highs of feel-good nothings.
