Manuel names teams he wants trade to

ALASKA Aces star Vic Manuel has rattled off a list of teams that he prefers to get traded to and this includes the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, the NLEX Road Warriors and perennial powerhouse San Miguel Beermen.

The power forward, who recently came out and requested for a trade out of Alaska, revealed this list during an appearance on the Sports All-In show by coach Beaujing Acot.

Manuel naming Phoenix is a no-brainer given his close relationship with the Fuel Masters’ star forward Calvin Abueva.

He also cited his relationship with Phoenix head coach Topex Robinson as another vital reason for him wanting to get traded to the Fuel Masters. After all, it was Robinson who helped give Manuel a taste of D-League action when he tapped the Philippine School of Business Administration star to join the RnW Pacific Pipes squad.

Manuel and Robinson also linked up at Alaska before the latter moved on to Phoenix, first as a deputy before taking over as head coach before the 2020 Philippine Cup.

As for the Beermen, Manuel explained that San Miguel was his favorite team growing up. He also named NLEX because of his fondness for the fiery yet effective coaching style of Yeng Guiao.

It remains to be seen, though, whether Alaska management will accede to Manuel’s trade request. / JNP
