Conscious color coupling

Conscious color coupling

For the second time in the last two decades, the world’s color authority Pantone has chosen two shades for its annual Color of the Year. Sending a message of positivity and fortitude, the Ultimate Gray and Illuminating are the awesome twosome that we’re now seeing more of in fashion, consumer products and home decor. If you’re looking to spiff up your space, look no further than this guide.

Soak in colors while you soak

The Ultimate Gray shade makes for a gorgeous bathroom paint color or even on your backsplash and floor tiles. Yellow rugs and countertop accessories are just the splash of color you need.

Game of throws

Color trends come and go, so to avoid making a commitment, just add gray and yellow in small updates such as accessories that can easily and inexpensively be swapped out. Throw pillows and throw blankets are safe and smart choices.

No kitschy kitchen.

A classic neutral like gray is an excellent choice for kitchen cabinetry and can be paired with virtually any other hue. For pops of yellow, serving pieces, barstools or a runner in the sunny shade should be enough.

The eyes have it

Your bedroom should be inviting and the sight of it should be something you would want to wake up to each morning. Gray is a soothing color so it does the trick, but to break the monotony, consider playing with textures, be it on your walls or on your choice of materials such as rattan and wicker. Metallic accents add dimension too.

Outfitted outdoor spaces

Whether it’s your porch, patio or deck, your favorite outdoor space can use some updating too. A gray backdrop with bright yellow accents is pretty and homey for both the dwellers and guests.
