Westmincom holds Multi-Sector Governance Consultative Board Meeting

THE Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) held a Multi-Sector Governance Consultative Board (MSGCB) meeting Friday, January 15, at the Eisenhower Hall, Khadaffy Mansion, Camp Navarro, Zamboanga City.

The meeting was done purposely to discuss the adoption of the Westmincom Transformation Roadmap-MSGCB constitution and by-laws, address the concerns of each member of the board, and give updates on the MSGC initiatives for the past year.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, the board chairperson, presided over the meeting and administered the oath-taking of the new members of the board -- lawyer Naguib Sinarimbo, minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MILG-Barmm), and Dickson Hermoso, minister of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC)-Barmm.

Physically present during the meeting were Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan Jr., Westmincom chief; Brigadier General Antonio Nafarrete, Westmincom deputy chief for administration; the command staff, MSGCB members including Basilan Congressman Mujiv Hataman; Fr. Karel San Juan SJ; Pastor Carlos Gulane; Dr. Grace Rebollos; Prof. Ali Yacub; Regional Development Council Director Jose Suan; Roel Pareño; Raymond Domingo; Dominic Sanchez; Teofilo Garcia Jr.; Timothy Ijiran; Abdulwahid Lutian; and Engineer Mohammad Ali Urao.

Also present through video teleconferencing (VTC) were Christopher Lawrence Arnuco, Edwin To, Sinarimbo, and Hermoso.

In realizing its vision to become a world-class armed force by 2028, the Westmincom formed the MSGCB, a diverse group of leaders from different stakeholders. They serve as advisers in the implementation of the Westmincom Transformation Roadmap.

Since its launch in 2019, the MSGCB has played a significant role that immensely contributed to the mission accomplishment of Westmincom.

The unit has been conferred with the Gold Trailblazer Award for two consecutive years (2019-2020).

"The MSGCB has been instrumental in all our triumphs," Vinluan said in his message.

"Let us continue to work in unison so that together we will achieve our common goal that is to bring lasting peace and sustainable development here in Mindanao," Vinluan added. (PR)
