Negros Occidental governor says he's still with Love-Negros

NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson clarified Friday, January 15, 2021, that he is still with Love-Negros.

Lacson made the statement amid speculations that he had already transferred to the United Negros Alliance (Unega) after Unega took its oath before him after the death of the late Governor Alfredo Maranon, who founded Unega.

"We in the Love-Negros honors the coalition and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer

has manifested the support of Unega to the coalition and that's also the same on our part," Lacson said.

He added, "respect each other and there's no need to transfer because we have the coalition. I am still with Love-Negros."

When asked for a reaction to rumors that former Third District Representative Alfredo Benitez may run for governor, Lacson said, "I think Cong. Albee should answer that but the coalition is holding especially now."
