18 Oro residents infected; total Covid-19 cases now at 3,069

EIGHTEEN residents tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, two of whom are locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and 16 are local transmissions, bringing the total number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro to 3,069.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 16 new cases, 10 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, one is a local authorized person outside residence (Apor), and five are local index cases.

Of the 3,069 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 416 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,653 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,653 local cases consist of 182 persons deprived of liberty, 1,352 local index cases and 1,120 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 342 active cases, 99 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 230 outpatients, and 13 are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 33 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results came out negative over the weekend. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,572.

Of the figure, 294 are LSIs, 108 are ROFs, and 2,170 are local cases (community: 1,825; Apors: 345).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 155.
