17-year-old escapes from isolation facility, tested negative for coronavirus

ACTING City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery clarified on Saturday, January 16, 2021, that the 17-year-old who ran away from one of the city's isolation facility is not symptomatic and has tested negative for the novel coronavirus.

Nery said the child in conflict with the law (CICL), a resident of Barangay Bugo, was brought to the facility as part of the protocol of the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD).

"Under man ni sa CSWD nga kung naay mga CICL, before nato ibutang didito sa atong main nga facility, ipahigayon sa holding area wherein they will be swabbed para pud sa kasiguraduhan and safety," Nery said.

"Unfortunately, kani nga person nakagawas and na swab na ni sya, negative ang result," she added.

The city health officer further said they received a report from the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) that the 17-year-old, who was said to be involved in illegal drugs, got in contact with his father. T

The police have not yet identified the location of the child.

"As of now, January 16, at large pa ning CICL ug padayon gyapon nga gina actionan sa atong PNP Cocpo nga mga personnel," Nery said.
