Oro's business permit renewal extended to February 26

THE Cagayan de Oro City Council has moved to extend the business permit renewal from January 20 to February 26, 2021.

In its regular session on Monday, January 18, the City Council approved Mayor Oscar Moreno's request for the extension of the period for the renewal of business permit, which stemmed from a letter he received from the city's business sector.

"Kasabot ta nga daghan sad mga businessmen nga naapektuhan sa economic slowdown and naa pu'y maayong lakaw pero dili tanan," Moreno said during a press conference Tuesday, January 19.

Moreno said that while they agreed to the extension, the deadline should not go beyond February 26.

"In any economic situations, naa gyu'y winners, naay losers. Ang ako lang hangyo, katong winners, kahibalo man sila who they are kay dako man ilang income during the time, nga mo-share sad unta sila kay para katong naigo sad di sad mahimo nga they will go beyond what they are obliged to give," Moreno said.

"Sharing lang kay after all, ang atong mga revenue collections gamiton man pud in the service of the people," he added.

The mayor also clarified that there are no new taxes and no increase in the tax rates.
