2 Mandaue offices on lockdown

THE Mandaue City Engineering's Office (CEO) and Office of the Building Officer (OBO) were placed on lockdown Thursday, January 21, 2021, after one employee of CEO tested positive for coronavirus.

Lawyer John Eddu Ibañez, the executive secretary of Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, said that based on the reports, the worker who tested positive for the virus has flu-like symptoms and went to the hospital for check-up.

He said the employee still reported to work, which is why 74 personnel from the two offices have undergone swab testing as part of the contact tracing measures of the city.

Although CEO, OBO and Department of General Services (DGS) are sharing the same building located on Plaridel St., Barangay Centro, Mandaue City, Ibañez said the DGS was not included in the lockdown, as it occupies the second floor of the building, while the other two offices are on the first floor.

"Dili ra kaayo na sila magkahalobilo sa DGS kay inig entrance nimo kay stairs naman dayon padung sa DGS nga office," said Ibañez.

He said the personnel of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office have disinfected the two offices. (KFD)
