14 Oro residents infected; total COvid-19 cases now at 3,176

FOURTEEN residents tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, all of which are local transmissions, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro to 3,176.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 14 new cases, one is a person deprived of liberty (PDL), four are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, two are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and seven are local index cases.

Of the 3,176 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 417 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,759 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,759 local cases consist of 184 PDLs, 1,399 local index cases and 1,176 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 346 active cases, 106 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 235 outpatients, and five are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 31 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,668.

Of the figure, 296 are LSIs, 115 are ROFs, and 2,257 are local cases (community: 1,901; Apors: 356).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 162.
