Zamboanga City mayor warns business establishments

THE City Government of Zamboanga issued a stern warning to local business establishments that are violating the standard safety protocols to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar issued the warning as reports reached her office that several local business establishments ignore health protocols amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Salazar was particularly referring to places of leisure. A beach resort on the east coast reportedly accepted parties and social gatherings last week.

“I am warning them. I know I will find enemies... okay lang por amor de Covid. As mayor, I have to put my feet down to implement,” Salazar said.

“It is really a grave abuse of people that are not following the protocols of safety and violating and behaving as if there is no Covid,” she added.

She said a team of inspectors will be organized to check on the compliance to health protocols by the local establishments. (SunStar Zamboanga)
